weekend recap

i hope you all had a lovely weekend! mine was oh so good. for reals, like the best weekend i've had in quite a while. it all started off with a visit from the mollster. it was much needed. what did we do, you ask? well, let me tell you. it was wild and crazy. first, we went to best buy and bought a blue ray player...i know, crazy right?! not only was it a blue ray player, but it also streams netflix! bonus. after the purchase of said blue ray player, we made our way to barnes & noble. can i just say, people watching in barnes & noble is probably one the greatest things ever. where else can you find grown adults sprawled in the middle of the floor reading books? anyway....i was looking for a book that was recommended to me by a friend, and i found it. along with another semi self-help type book. i can seriously only imagine what the cashier was thinking when she rang me up. , i mean look at the selection i ended up with. i'm pathetic i tell you.

we decided to hit up in-n-out burger for dinner. great decision. i kind of want to get a second job there. the workers look like they're having so much fun. afterwards we headed home to catch the last quarter of the jazz game. which they won. by one stinking point. it was a nail biter, folks. both of us were jumping up and down screaming. just like skinners do. after the game we set up the new awesome blue ray player and indulged ourselves with a few episodes of downton abbey (it is addicting, and oh so good). all while polishing off an entire bag of rips. thanks to marianne for introducing me to these little beauties.

saturday we slept in, i went running (kind of, i walked too...don't tell anyone), and we did a little shopping. well, window shopping. neither of us bought anything. it was still fun though! saturday night we hit up the byu men's volleyball game with a couple of my best friends from work, and it was a total blast! those men are good. and you can certainly bet that i was scoping out future prospects on the court. hello #17, will you marry me? afterwards we hit up sammy's for some sweet potato fries and a famous milkshake...folks, they actually put an entire piece of pie in the darn thing! i had a coconut cream pie shake. it was life changing. i didn't get any pictures of this occasion, darn it. next time.
molls pumped my gas and washed my windshield. best. sister. ever
sunday was my first time attending my new ward. i was a little nervous, but it was amazing! i honestly think i am going to love my ward, i already do. as i was sitting in sacrament meeting it hit me like a ton of bricks....this is exactly where i am meant to be at this time in my life. i couldn't deny that feeling, and it was such a huge relief to me. church was seriously great, and gave me so much hope. i am truly going to be happy here. can i also add that sunday was one of the most beautiful days we've had in provo in quite a long time? there was not a cloud in the sky and it was at least 55 degrees outside. i was in heaven as i sat in my car with the sun baking me through the windshield. spring is on the way! after church i headed out to stansbury park to spend a much needed afternoon with some of my very favorite people in the world. i was able to visit with some of my dearest friends out there. i miss them so much, and am so grateful to them for their love and support through the big D. plus, their kids are really cute, so it's like a double bonus when i visit. seriously, look at that face!

jack and michelle are always so welcoming and loving to me, and i seriously can't imagine going through this whole ordeal without them. i also got to see michelle (the other michelle, they're neighbors...confusing right?) and her husband, the orgills and the koudelkas. i miss my stansbury friends so much! i love being able to spend time with them.
well, that's my weekend recap. kind of long, huh? sorry if i bored you to tears. stay tuned this week for some excitement! i'm heading to FHE tonight, which should be great! tomorrow i'm having dinner with some friends that i haven't seen in a very long time. wednesday we're heading country swing dancing, thursday is girls night, and friday my company is taking us all to a hockey game! busy week for me, but it's going to be great. i hope you all had a fantastic weekend!

xoxo-meg

  1. OK...now I am craving both Rips and a coconut cream pie shake from Sammy's. Not fair. Do the workers at Sammy's still struggle beyond belief? Remember when we went there and they were super special, plus those awkward peeps from the NuSkin convention were swarming the place? Good times.

    1. I've never been! I'm sure I'm going to love it though. I'll probably make a complete fool of myself, but it will still be fun. I hope :)
