weekend recap

i can't believe the weekend is already over. it flew by! i hope you all had a fabulous one. mine was pretty productive, which always feels good. so...let the fun begin. here's what happened:
friday night: hockey game with infuse medical. so much fun! i love getting to spend time with my co-workers outside of the office. this was my first hockey game. hockey is....pretty exciting. my only complaint is that they play for 15 minutes, then they have a 15 minute break before they start playing again. they do this twice. i don't get it....totally ruins the flow of the game. it was really fun though! i've learned that if you can get super cheap tickets to a sporting event, you can safely assume that you'll be paying an insane amount for refreshments. seriously, does a girl have to promise her firstborn child to get a diet coke? $4.75 for a 32oz. drink is just wrong. but, i have a special bond with my diet coke, so i would pay almost any amount to have it. rip off.
hockey isn't very popular in SLC apparently. look how empty the stands are!
saturday: i had a relief society birthday celebration with our stake. it felt pretty good to start my weekend off on a spiritual note. i learned a lot, and got to know more people, which is always nice. afterwards i had my first guitar lesson, which went amazingly well. i'm picking it up pretty quickly, and it feels so good to be learning something new. i absolutely love playing, and think this is going to be one of my new favorite things to do. seriously. who needs a man when you have a guitar?
new obsession
after guitar lessons i went up to the temple to soak up some sun with kate. the last week or so has been absolutely gorgeous. saturday was no exception. nothing better than sun bathing in march. that stupid groundhog must have been wrong, because this feels an awful lot like spring to me. who trusts a groundhog's opinion anyway? i've never really understood that.
such a beautiful day!
i got to spend the rest of my saturday with my friends alex and jess. alex and i went to high school together, he was my best guy friend. his wife jess is awesome, and we always have a lot of fun when we hang out together. we went to dinner at texas roadhouse, where i consumed my own body weight in rolls and butter. seriously, i think they put crack in those things. so good. then we grabbed some treats at the store and headed back to my apartment to watch the jazz humiliate themselves. it was overall a great day.
sunday: church. it was great, we had ward conference so we got to hear from the Bishop and his wife, as well as our Stake President. i am still loving my ward, and the people are amazing. i meet someone new at every activity i go to, and i'm really excited to keep getting more involved. after church i spent a little time with annie and dain. annie and i basked in the sun for a while....with the amount of sun-basking i do, you probably assume that i look like an old dried up piece of leather. i don't. i went to dinner at my friend natalie's house, where her husband jeremy prepared some delicious chicken fajitas. it was great to visit with them and catch up. i attended ward prayer (or ward stare, if you prefer), and finished off the night at annie and dain's eating a delicious homemade cinnamon roll. good times in p-town.
i don't have a lot going on this week, except for the fact that i have to give the lesson at fhe tomorrow. i'm planning on hitting up the driving range at some point as well, as long as this weather decides to stick around.
hope you all had a fabulous weekend.
