weekend recap

did ya'll have a good weekend? mine was pretty decent. i went to idaho (again.) i feel like i go there way too much. and i'm going to be there next weekend as well. geez. anyway, i headed up thursday night because i had to attend a funeral on friday. here's a recap of the happenings.
friday: attended the funeral of a family friend/coach/young women's president. i can't even imagine what her family was feeling this day. things like this always remind me of what is really important in life. they also help me understand that my trials are nothing compared to the trials of others. the service was beautiful. i actually learned a lot about trish that i didn't know before. she was an amazing woman, who touched the lives of many many people. how grateful i am for the knowledge that families are forever. that her family will be reunited with her after this life. what a comforting thing to know.
my sissies are so pretty.
friday night i went on a date with my friend from high school (same person i went on a date with last week. he shall rename nameless.) it's really fun to spend time with people that already know me. i like being around people that i feel comfortable talking to about my situation, it makes things a lot easier.
saturday: woke up to beautiful weather (i understand it's snowing in lava right now. haha. suckers.), so mollster and i decided to hit the links. i haven't been golfing in a while (well, driving range, but not an actual round). it was fun. we didn't keep score. fun fact: molly and i are both extremely competitive (me more than her), so it's usually best for us to keep things casual. there's always a little bit of competition, sure, but if you don't keep score, you can't really tell who won. (although i'm pretty certain she did, and i'm not ok with that). i did par the last hole, so i ended on a good note i suppose. the weather was gorgeous. i love spending time outside and the view at the golf course is amazing...surrounded my mountains. ahhhh. after golf we headed over to a high school softball game so we could see our old coach and stomping grounds. i miss softball. can't wait for this season to start. i headed home saturday night and ended up hanging out with mike and dash (and matt and mash) in c-wood heights for the night. lonestar deliciousness and friday night lights. nothing better. oh...except for the little expedition we took to deliver cds to someone. which ended up turning in to an hour long fiasco. we got lost. i don't want to talk about it. don't trust a gps. especially when it tries to tell you to drive through a mountain. it was good times though.
molls has a mouthful of seeds. ha.
daaaaang girl.
sunday: church. i love my ward. i know i say it every week, but i feel so lucky to be where i am. i always feel so at peace after my meetings, and it's a wonderful feeling. i spent the afternoon hanging with al and jess watching some college b-ball (haha. north carolina.) and the jazz game. which went into quadruple freaking overtime. and we lost. it was intense. but a fun game to watch. we spent a little time going through old pictures from high school. i love hanging out with those guys. i went to ward stare prayer, and played games with a group of people afterwards. all in all, great sunday.

softball season starts april 18th. i am already dreaming about it. ha. my cousins are also putting a team together that i'm going to play on, which is going to be a ton of fun. speaking of which, we have a couple names picked out. which one do you guys like better?

1) victorious secret (get it? like victoria's secret. so clever)
2) blood bath and beyond (again, get it? like bed, bath and beyond. but way more bad-A)

looking forward to a good week. i have a semi-serious post coming soon. it's gonna get real raw up in here. prepare yourselves.

xoxo-meg

  1. Saturday night was a blast! Well, besides the whole Danforth fiasco :) And you forgot to mention Farr's! That salted caramel ice cream was orgasmic.
