weekend recap...finally

yesterday was kind of an off day...i'll post about that later. for that reason, the weekend recap is making a late appearance. i'm sure you were all just waiting on pins & needles. ha. sooooo here goes. my weekend started on thursday.
thursday: sushi night with my favorite gals. we spent about two hours at the restaurant chatting about life. i love my friends. we always have a great time together. after sushi marianne and i headed to provo to get me packed for the weekend. we ate a lot of berry berry kix and talked about life after the big D. we're both victims of it, so it's nice to have someone to relate to. i spent the night at marianne's house so she could take me to the airport the next morning.
friday: woke up to snow. what the? i was so bugged. made my way to the airport for a day of traveling, and eventually ended up in cincinnati. i was so excited to see my cousin and his little family, and of course...my parents. my dad knew i was coming, but ma had no clue, and it was pretty fun to surprise her. i posted the video on facebook, so i'm not going to post it here. we spent the night visiting, going for a walk, eating, and playing wii. leann dominated at dr. mario. i'm terrible at that game.
max, mom, halle and me

saturday: headed to the outlet mall (amazing) and did a little shopping. more shopping than i should have done, but it's ok. i'm on vacation, right?! after the outlet malls we headed to the zoo. cincinnati has a pretty awesome zoo. even more impressive than the animals is the people watching. some classy folks pass through there. very entertaining. after the zoo we went to the levee for some dinner and to get a good view of the city. we tried to go to the reds game, but it was sold out. and the people scalping tickets were asking an arm and a leg for standing room. i was kind of bummed, but we watched it on tv instead :)
at the levee
sunday: i got ready for church and sweet halle told me i looked like a bride (ha) and made me walk around the house for a while while she held my skirt up. it was too cute. my parents had to take off for their drive home, and i went to sacrament meeting with scott and leann. afterwards i headed to the airport for my flight home.
the wedding march :)
love these little munckins
while i was waiting at the airport, i sat at a sports bar drinking diet coke and watching the masters. i got hit on by a chubby nerdy guy that looked like someone who frequents disneyland alone a lot. why? seriously, why do i attract these people? our conversation went something like this:
disneyland man: (sits next to me) can i get you something stronger to drink?
me: no thanks, i don't drink
disneyland man: oh ok. where are you headed?
me: salt lake
disneyland man: is that where you live?
me: yes
disneyland man: are you mormon?
me: yes
disneyland man: so you're a polygamist?
me: no. (seriously, do i LOOK like a polygamist to you) mormons don't practice polygamy
disneyland man: oh. i was going to say...how can someone handle more than one wife? i probably couldn't even handle one.
me: well, that's probably why they don't do it anymore (i then swiftly made an exit)
oh the joys of traveling.

i love that i was able to spend some time with family this weekend. it was much needed. i hope you all had a great easter weekend as well! i'll be posting a little bit later about the makings of a "funk". stay tuned.

  2. I love your church outfit! I need a fun long skirt like that. And Dr. Mario is seriously so hard. My family got really into it for a while and it made me crazy.
